At A Child's Life, we are focused on providing the love of Jesus Christ to the children and families of Liberia. We believe that the love of Jesus is expressed not just in words but also in deeds. We are committed to meeting the physical, emotional, cognitive, and spiritual needs of these children that have been forgotten by the world.

A retired U.S. Navy Commander, Karen visited Liberia in the fall of 2012 and fell in love with the people and children. Having travelled a great deal while in the Navy she has been exposed to many different cultures but this is the first country she has considered her second home. There she had an instant connection with the people and especially the children.
After retiring from the Navy she worked for her church in the children's ministry and obtained her certification in Early Childhood Education. She has a heart for children and sees in them the potential to change our world. It is with childlike faith that mountains can be moved.
Her dream is to one day build homes, clinics, and schools in Liberia in order to provide hope for the children and to bring glory and honor to her Savior, Jesus Christ.

Even though Bishop Panton lived in Liberia during part of the civil war he was displaced seven times before, upon his family's insistence, he left. As a young male living in Liberia, it was for his own safety that he fled to prevent his "recruitment" into one of the fighting factions. Once the war ended, Bishop Panton continued to live in neighboring Ghana where for eight years he worked in the refugee camps helping to repatriate displaced Liberians.
Last year Bishop Panton took charge of 23 churches in Liberia and Cote d'Ivoire all of which had suffered tremendous war damage. But, the biggest problem was not crumbling buildings but a people who had no infrastructure or hope upon which to build their lives. He and his wife work tirelessly to provide hope and to share the love of Jesus with the people of Liberia

God is telling us that children are our gift from Him. He sees them as a special possession that He is passing on to us. His heritage or inheritance to us are His children. Father God can give us nothing more precious and special for which we are to treasure than His children.
Children are a wonderful and beautiful heritage that God has given to this world. And we are to protect, guide, and nurture this precious gift from God.
